Brief information on carnitine:
Carnitine (3-hydroxy-4-N-trimethyl-aminobutyric acid) is actually one of the vitaminoids. However, it can be formed in the metabolism from the amino acids methionine and lysine, supported by vitamin C, vitamin B6, niacin and iron. Since carnitine plays a role in the overall metabolic process and here especially in the context of fat metabolism, it is often equated with the amino acids due to its importance.

Examples of possible nutritional measures of carnitine:
Carnitine has a wide range of uses for fat metabolism, for diets, for vegetarians, for diabetes, for athletes, for muscles and the heart, for the immune system, as well as for stress and frequent tiredness. Carnitine helps to reduce the potential side effects of numerous medications (e.g. antibiotics, anthracyclines and certain chemotherapeutic agents).
