Detailed instructions for AMOROLFIN beta 50 mg/ml active ingredient nail polish, 3 ml
Field of use
- The preparation is a medicine (broad spectrum antimycotic) for the treatment of fungal diseases (mycosis) of the nails without the involvement of the nail root (nail matrix). It contains the active ingredient amorolfin, a mushroom to combat a variety of different mushrooms that can cause nail fungal infection.
- The medicine is turned for topical treatment from nail fungus if the nail is infested of less than 50% (especially in the front area) and less than 3 nails.

Contradictions
- The preparation must not be applied if you are allergic to Amorolfin or one of the other components of this drug.
dosage
- Always apply this medicine exactly as described or according to your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, Amorolfin nail polish is used as follows:
- Apply the nail polish to the infected finger or toenails once a week. Continue the treatment until the sick nails have grown out healthy (normal appearance of the nail).
- Mushroom infections are often very persistent. You therefore have to carry out the treatment continuously once a week until the nail has grown completely healthy. The time required for this is generally 6 months (fingernails) or 9 to 12 months (toenails), with the degree of infestation playing an important role. The nail growth speed is approx. 1 to 2 mm per month.
- Important: If you or someone else have accidentally swallowed the nail polish, see your doctor, your pharmacist or the nearest hospital immediately.
- Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of amorolfin nail polish is too strong or too weak.
- If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Taking
- Apply the nail polish to the infected finger or toenails.
- Please note the following information when using:
- The diseased parts of the nail surfaces are as good as possible before the first application.
- To filed for all other applications as required (e.g. when the nails thicken).
- 1. Use an alcohol swab for cleaning the nail surface. Any remnants of paint are also removed.
- 2. Please remove the nail polish with the reusable spatula. Improving the spatula for every nail to be treated and do not touch it off on the bottle neck (risk of drying).
- 3. Apply the nail polish with the spatula evenly to the entire area of the sick nail.
- 4. Close the bottle well immediately after each use to avoid drying out the solution.
- 5. Let the treated nails dry for 10 minutes.
- 6. Before a (new) application, cosmetic nail polish should be removed thoroughly. Nail polish remover should be avoided between the applications.
- 7. To the BE againuse use the spatula after use with an alcohol swab or with a cotton ball soaked with nail polish remover. Avoid touching freshly treated nails with the alcohol swab. Dispose of the alcohol swell carefully because it is dangerous.
- The diseased parts of the nail surfaces are as good as possible before the first application.
- What must also be considered in the case of nail fungus treatment?
- A nail file used for treatment may no longer be used for the care of healthy nails, otherwise healthy nails with nail fungus can be infected. Use separate disposable to the treatment of diseased nails.
- The lacquer layer made of amorolfin on the fingernails can be dissolved or removed when dealing with organic solvents (nitrover thinner, turpentine set, etc.). Therefore, when working with such means, to protect the lacquer layer, you have to wear impermeable gloves.
Patient information
- Warnings and Precautions
- Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using Amorolfin.
- Nail files used for sick nails must not be used for healthy nails.
- The nail polish should not be applied to the skin around the affected nail.
- Avoid any contact with your eyes, ears and mucous membranes. No artificial nails should be used during the use of amorolfin. Patients who work with organic solvents (dilution, test petrol, etc.) must wear impermeable gloves to protect the layer of amorolfin on the fingernails. Otherwise the nail polish will be replaced.
- All medicines can trigger allergic reactions and although these are mostly mild, some can be serious. If this is the case, stop using the drug, remove the nail polish immediately with nail polish remover or the alcohol punch contained in the pack for cleaning and search for medical advice. Amorolfin must not be used again.
- If you develop one of the following symptoms, you urgently need medical help:
- Complaints about breathing
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat
- heavy skin exchanges
- Children and adolescents
- There is no experience to use amorolfin in infants, children and adolescents.
- Wateriness and ability to operate machines
- Amorolfin has no or negligible influence on the traffic and the ability to use machines.
Pregnancy
- If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
- There are only limited experiences about the application of amorolfin during pregnancy and lactation.
- Amorolfin should not be used during pregnancy and lactation if it is not clearly required.
