The Avène XeraCalm A.D cream soothes irritated and cares for dry skin, even for babies from 1 month.
Indication
Extremely dry, scaly, itchy, reddened or weeping skin in the crooks of the arms, behind the knees, on the back of the neck, on the neck and on the face: Atopic dermatitis usually creates a vicious circle of itching and a weakened skin barrier. A weakened barrier layer makes the skin more susceptible to germs and infections, which can lead to inflammation. In order to prevent this and to prevent an infection, in addition to drug therapy, demanding, intensively moisturizing skin care is required in the phases when there are no flare-ups.
In addition to the itch-relieving, skin-soothing and nourishing effect, care for this highly sensitive, vulnerable skin must meet the highest hygienic requirements.

The cream is particularly suitable for dry skin, atopic skin conditions, skin prone to neurodermatitis or age-related xerosis.
Active substances and mode of action of the product
The effect of XeraCalm A.D is based on a unique combination of active ingredients. The basis is the proven Avène thermal water with its skin-soothing, irritation-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. A CER-OMEGA lipid complex with unsaturated omega-6 fatty acids strengthens the skin barrier, nourishes the skin and promotes its regeneration. At the heart of XeraCalm A.D is the innovative active ingredient I-modulia®, developed through intensive scientific research from the microflora of Avène thermal water (Aquaphilus dolomiae). It relieves itching caused by dryness, soothes redness and stimulates the skin's immune system to counter bacterial superinfections.
The skin is cared for and moisturized by the application of the XeraCalm A.D cream. It soothes the skin intensively and ensures that the therapy-free intervals in atopic skin conditions are extended.
Application
Apply 1 to 2 times a day to dry areas of the face and body.
User studies
The tolerability and effectiveness of the XeraCalm A.D cream has been scientifically proven by various internal user studies.
Tolerance study:
The tolerability of the XeraCalm A.D cream was tested in a user study with 40 neurodermatitis patients (10 patients aged 11 to 65 years and 30 patients aged 7 months to 10 years).
The result: high skin tolerance.
Efficacy study:
The effectiveness of the XeraCalm A.D cream was tested using various open, monocentric user studies.
An internal user study was conducted in which the clinical score was measured on 30 subjects (aged 7 months and 10 years) with extremely dry skin. Use of the XeraCalm A.D cream twice a day for 28 days.
The result: The itching can be reduced by up to 97 percent in the first month of use.
In addition, an internal user study was carried out with 16 subjects measuring the retention of moisture deposits. Use of XeraCalm A.D Cream twice a day for 1 week.
The result: skin moisture is retained for up to 48 hours.
Avène XeraCalm A.D care line
The Avène XeraCalm A.D care series has been specially designed for extremely dry skin that is prone to neurodermatitis. It soothes the skin, has a strong moisturizing effect and relieves the agonizing itching that neurodermatitis patients in particular suffer from. From defrom cleansing to care and intensive care, Avène XeraCalm A.D offers exactly the right formulations for damaged, stressed, dry skin. The protective acid mantle is quickly rebuilt and the skin is supplied with nutrients and moisture. In addition, the very high proportion of Avène thermal water relaxes and soothes the skin thanks to its anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties. All products have high tolerance formulations to minimize the risk of allergic reactions. Due to the sterile production and the sterile withdrawal due to the sterile closure of cream, balm and anti-itch concentrate, the tube contents are additionally protected against germs and preservatives and fragrances can therefore be dispensed with. Maximum skin tolerance is guaranteed.

I used it as a hand cream at night – simply putting on thin cotton gloves, and the next morning the cracks were significantly reduced! Don't be surprised if, due to the sterile seal, it takes about two minutes after several pumps for the cream to come out! However, this only happens when it's first opened. After that, everything works perfectly! I received this product for free

This product was provided to me free of charge as part of a product test.I'm pleasantly surprised by the cream.It's semi-thick, rich, and very well tolerated.It's especially good for dry and itchy skin.I love applying it to freshly cleansed skin and/or layering it with other products using the sandwich method.I think the price is reasonable considering the amount and effectiveness.Even my children have used the cream, which I appreciate, as it's suitable for all ages.It doesn't leave a sticky residue; the texture is creamy yet light and absorbs relatively quickly.This makes it perfect for the winter months, especially for those with very dry skin like me.It's also easy to apply to the neck, décolletage, and hands.I will definitely be repurchasing it
