Field of use

For acute wounds such as uninfected transplant wounds, abrasions and blisters, e.g. B. caused by CO2 laser treatments, skin diseases (acne vulgaris, atopic dermatitis, impetigo contagiosa and rosacea), burns or punch biopsies.

For chronic wounds: such as venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcer and ulcus cruris (leg ulcer).

Mode of action

Betaisodona Advanced Wound and Healing Gel (pack size: 12.5 g) is a special product for wound healing that promotes skin regeneration and thus accelerates the healing process.
It consists of a hydrogel with liposomes and 3% povidone Iodine. The cell components (phospholipids) of the liposomes contained in Betaisodona Advanced Wound and Healing Gel (pack size: 12.5 g) have similar physiological properties to skin cells. At the base of the wound, the phospholipids can repair damaged cell membranes. The hydrogel base (carbomer) serves as a carrier for the liposomes. Many years of scientific research have shown that optimal wound healing requires a moist environment in which damaged tissue can regenerate more quickly. The hydrogel base provides a moist environment and supports wound cleansing by removing dead tissue.
In addition, the quality of wound healing is improved in terms of flexibility, elasticity and appearance of the skin.

Ingredients of Betaisodona Advanced wound and healing gel (pack size: 12.5 g):

Active ingredients:
Carbomer, hydrogenated (3-sn-phosphatidyl)choline (soy), sodium hydroxide, citric acid, disodium hydrogen phosphate, potassium iodate, povidone iodine and purified water

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the medicine should not be used.

dosage

• Apply the medicine evenly, approximately 2 mm thick, to the damaged area once or several times a day (or each time you change the wound dressing). If necessary, a wound dressing (e.g. Paraffin gauze) can be applied.

Intake

• Intended for external use only; Avoid contact with mucous membranes and eyes.
• The preparation must not be warmed before use. If the product is accidentally heated, it must be discarded.
• 1. Clean wound if necessary.
• 2a. Apply the gel approximately 2 mm thick directly to the wound. If necessary, protect the edges of the wound with an oily ointment
• 2 b. Apply the gel approximately 2 mm thick directly onto the wound dressing*. If necessary, protect wound edges with an oily ointment.
• 3. Cover the wound with paraffin gauze and wound dressing.
  • *When choosing the wound dressing, the relevant contraindications must be taken into account. Do not use silver-coated pads.
• This preparation is suitable for various wound dressings.
• It is not suitable for wound dressings containing silver.

 

Patient information

• Warnings and Precautions
  • This preparation must not be used on infected wounds (e.g. purulent, hot, very red, painful wounds) unless directed by a doctor.
  • The product must be used with caution in patients with current or previous thyroid disease. In these patients, prolonged use (e.g. over 14 days) of the product on larger areas of skin (e.g. over 10% of total body surface area) should only be considered after careful benefit-risk assessment.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if the medicine is accidentally swallowed.
  • If the preparation is used extensively for more than 2 weeks, the patient's thyroid function must be monitored.
  • Caution is advised in patients with renal insufficiency and use should only be carried out under the instructions of a doctor.
  • The gel can reduce the uptake of iodine in the thyroid, which affects certain tests and examinations such as thyroid scintigraphy, PBI-determination and radio-iodine diagnostic procedures and thus makes planned thyroid treatment with iodine (radio-iodine therapy) impossible can.
  • If skin irritation, contact dermatitis or hypersensitivity occurs, use of this medicine should be discontinued.
  • If the gel accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water and then consult a doctor immediately. Stop touching your eyes until you have washed your hands.

Pregnancy

• The medicine may only be used with caution and with caution during pregnancy and breast-feeding as well as in newborns and infants up to 6 months of age. If the duration of use is longer than 2 weeks, the thyroid function of the newborn/infant must be monitored.
