Calcium D Uno Osteo
Dietary supplement with 500 mg calcium plus 25 µg vitamin D3

Human skin produces vitamin D3 from UV radiation. But in winter, during the Working hours or otherwise, we are rarely outside enough to produce sufficient quantities. Therefore, in the case of an existing vitamin D3 deficiency, a dietary supplement can be useful. This is particularly dangerous for seniors, who tend to lose bone mass year after year as they age. This increases the risk of bone fractures. In the autumn and winter months, almost all age groups are affected by a vitamin D deficiency - due to the lack of hours of sunshine.

The German Society for Nutrition recommends the intake of 20 µg per day in the absence of endogenous synthesis (lack of solar radiation) of vitamin D3. The actual intake with food is an average of 2.2 µg/d in women. Hardly anyone reaches the daily recommended amount of 20 µg vitamin D3.
Fortunately, our body can absorb part of the vitamin D (calciferol) from food (fish, eggs, cheese). However, vegetarians and vegans in particular find it difficult to achieve a daily supply of 20 µg of vitamin D3.
