Patient information
- Warnings and Precautions
- Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.
- Special caution when taking it is necessary for:
- restricted kidney function (the application should onlyrole of the calcium and phosphate concentrations in the blood and urine as well as kidney function).
- Diseases or under conditions that favor the occurrence of hypercalcemia (e.g. primary hyperparathyroidism, certain tumor diseases, sarcoidosis, immobilization). In such cases, the calcium level should be monitored during the application of this medicine.
- dilated phosphate concentration in the blood (in the case of hypophosphatemia, the phosphate concentration in the blood must be monitored by the treating doctor).
- Ask your doctor for advice when kidney stones containing calcium in your family have occurred.
- By taking the preparation, the excretion of calcium in the urine increases. In the first few months after the start of income, this also increases the tendency to precipitate calcium salts and, under certain circumstances, to form stones in the kidney and urine bladder. This can be avoided by a ample supply of liquid.
- A magnesium deficiency can lead to a reduced release and effect of parathormone and thus cause a secondary calcium deficiency. Therefore, magnesium status should be checked before starting calcium therapy and, if necessary, magnesium gift should be given.
- When preventing the preparation, all calcium sources must be taken into account in nutrition in order to avoid overdosing. This should be checked regularly.
- Please note that taking this medicine together with high doses calcium and alkaline active ingredients (such as the carbonates used in antacida) from other sources (e.g. food, food supplements or other medicinal products) to a milk alkali syndrome (burnett -Syndrome) with increased calcium values in the blood, the blood (metabolic alkalosis), kidney failure and soft tissue calcification can lead. If high doses are taken, the calcium level in serum and urine should be checked.
- High doses of calcium, especially if vitamin D is also taken, can lead to increased calcium values in the blood and consequently to kidney dysfunction. In such cases, the calcium level in the serum and kidney function should be checked.
- In the case of too low stomach acid production (Achlorhydrie), the solubility of calcium carbonate can be impaired and the bioavailability of calcium can be reduced. In these cases, the medicine should be taken together with a meal to ensure sufficient absorption of calcium.
- Children and adolescents
- The preparation should not be applied in children under 6 years, since in principle the risk of "swallowing" could exist if the film-coated tablets were taken.
- Wateriness and ability to operate machines
- There are no special precautions required.
Pregnancy
- The medicine can be taken in the usual dosage recommended for adults during pregnancy and lactation.
Hints
Miscellaneous
- Drink a lot in the event of a tendency to stone formation in the drain urine paths
