Instructions for use

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How to use?
Apply the medication to the affected nail(s).The nails should be clean and dry.The medication should be applied to the entire nail plate, to the surrounding skin within a 5 mm radius, and, if possible, under the free edge of the nail, and allowed to dry for 30 seconds.The treated nails should not be washed for at least 6 hours.
Avoid accidental contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Duration of use?
The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and/or the course of the disease.Generally, the duration of use for fungal infections of the fingernails is approximately 6 months, and for toenails 9-12 months.

Overdose?
No symptoms of overdose are known.In case of doubt, consult your doctor.

Missed a dose?
Continue using the medication as usual at the next scheduled time (i.e., do not use a double dose).

How does the active ingredient of the medication work?

The active ingredient damages the outer membrane, the so-called cell membrane, of fungi.This membrane thus loses some of its functions; for example, it becomes less permeable to nutrients – the cell starves.Cell components can also leak out, and the cell subsequently disintegrates.Depending on the concentration of the active ingredient, the fungi are either inhibited in their growth and reproduction or directly killed.Furthermore, the active ingredient accumulates inside the fungal cell and damages the organelles there.

Medicated nail polish.

Active ingredient:
Ciclopirox.

Indications:
Fungal infections of the nails caused by dermatophytes and/or other fungi that can be treated with ciclopirox.

Warnings:
Contains cetylstearyl alcohol.

Ciclopoli^{®for nail fungus is the only water-soluble antifungal nail lacquer with the active ingredient ciclopirox 8%.Ciclopoli is effective against all common nail fungus pathogens and their spores.}

The deep-acting effect of Ciclopoli^® , thanks to its special HPCH-lacquer base, ensures that the active ingredient is transported deep into the nail – where the fungus resides.The active ingredient, ciclopirox, attacks the fungal cell from the inside and outside, reliably killing all relevant fungal pathogens.It is a broad-spectrum antifungal and also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Due to its water-soluble lacquer base, Ciclopoli^® is easy to apply and invisible on the nail: simply brush it on once a day, it dries in 30 seconds, and no complicated filing or nail polish remover is necessary.

Also suitable for treating nail fungus in diabetics.

Application:
• apply once daily to the entire nail and surrounding skin (no need to file the nail plate beforehand)
• The polish dries in just 30 seconds
• Do not wash treated nails for at least 6 hours after application, as the active ingredient ciclopirox needs this time to fully penetrate the nail plate
• Any remaining polish can then be easily washed off with water (no nail polish remover needed)
• Treatment duration is usually 6 to 12 months, until the nail has completely grown back healthy

The duration of treatment depends on how quickly the nail grows.Generally, complete healing of fingernails takes about 6 months, and toenails about 9 to 12 months.

Tips for treating nail fungus infections:
• Change towels and socks regularly.Wash at a minimum of 60°C (140°F).
• Avoid sharing towels.Use your own towel and nail care kit.
• Disinfect shoes regularly, e.g., with Myfungar^® shoe spray to prevent reinfection.
• In addition to treating nail fungus, any underlying athlete's foot or skin fungus must also be treated.Selergo^® Cream or Selergo^® Solution are suitable for this purpose.

How should I store Ciclopoli for nail fungus?
Store the bottle in the cardboard box to protect the product from light.If the bottle is stored without the outer packaging, the active ingredient will change and turn yellow.After each use, you should close the bottle tightly so that the contents do not evaporate.Do not leave the bottle open.

Please do not store Ciclopoli for nail fungus in the refrigerator.At temperatures below 15 °C, Ciclopoli for nail fungus can gel;a slight flocculation or a slight deposit may form on the bottom of the bottle.This can be dissolved by rubbing the bottle between your hands for about 1 minute.After that, the solution is clear again.This does not affect the quality or effectiveness of the product.Before use, check whether the solution is clear (transparent) again by checking the bottom of the bottle.

A pharmacist recommended this to me.I'm satisfied with it, but you have to use it daily for a long time to see real results.I used it for 1.5 years... but now it's enough!It's easy to use and apply!Next time (though hopefully I won't need it again), I'd try a different product.

I have toenail fungus on two toes, which has grown about 2 mm into the nail.Once a day, after a foot bath and letting my feet air dry, I apply the water-soluble nail polish Ciclopoli completely to both nails, plus 5 mm around the edges.I change my socks every day, washing them with a disinfectant laundry additive.After a month of treatment, the toenail fungus hasn't spread any further.As the nail grows, the affected part of the nail emerges and can be cut or filed away.The file and scissors must also be disinfected afterward!Ciclopoli is effective and saves you the hassle of using nail polish remover.The above procedure is sufficient for me.

I've been using this very effective nail polish for over a year.It's been very successful, but the duration naturally depends on the severity of the infestation.The fact that the price of this remedy has decreased is also a plus.I'm skeptical about using tablets because of the very strong side effects on the kidneys.
