Capillary, venous, arterial, and, of course, shunt blood can be used due to the oxygen-independent measurement.
- The hematocrit value allows for conclusions about the proportion of red blood cells in the blood and can provide information about the water balance.
- Even EPO-resistant patients can be tested over a wide hematocrit range (0-70%).
- By using FAD as a coenzyme, measurements can also be performed during peritoneal dialysis.
