Field of use

• The preparation is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent for application and rubbing into the skin.
• The drug is used for sole or supplementary external treatment
  • Swelling or inflammation of the soft tissues near the joint (e.g. bursa, tendons, tendon sheaths, ligaments and joint capsule),
  • Sports and accidental injuries such as bruises, sprains, strains.
• The drug is used in adolescents from 14 years of age and adults.
• If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days, contact your doctor.

Contraindications

• The drug must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to ibuprofen, to other painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
  • on open injuries, inflammation or infections of the skin, as well as on eczema or mucous membranes.
  • under airtight bandages.
  • in the last trimester of pregnancy.

dosage

• Always use this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. Check with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • apply a 4 - 10 cm long strand of gel, equivalent to 2 - 5 g of gel (100 - 250 mg ibuprofen), to the skin 3 times a day.
  • The maximum total daily dose is 15 g gel equivalent to 750 mg ibuprofen.

• Duration of use
  • Your doctor should determine the duration of treatment. In the case of swelling or inflammation of the soft tissues near the joint, a treatment period of up to 3 weeks is generally sufficient. In the case of sports and accident injuries, the treatment can last up to 2 weeks.
• Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.

• If you use more than you should
  • If the recommended dosage is exceeded when applied to the skin, the gel should be removed and washed off with water. Consult a doctor if excessive amounts are used or accidentally ingested.

• If you forgot the application
  • Do not apply a double dose to make up for a forgotten application.

• If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

  • Please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before using the medicine.
  • Patients suffering from asthma, hay fever, swelling of the nasal mucosa (so-called nasal polyps) or chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases or chronic pulmonary infections (particularly coupled with hay fever-like symptoms), and patients with hypersensitivity to painkillers and rheumatic drugs of all kinds are affected by asthma attacks (so-called analgesic intolerance/analgesic asthma), local Swelling of the skin and mucous membranes (so-called Quincke's edema) or hives (so-called urticaria) are more at risk than other patients.
  • In these patients, the preparation may only be used under certain precautionary measures and under direct medical supervision. The same applies to patients who are also hypersensitive (allergic) to other substances, such as B. with skin reactions, itching or hives.
  • Care should be taken to ensure that children do not put their hands in contact with the areas of the skin rubbed with the drug.
  • If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, a doctor should be consulted.
  • Children and young people
    • The drug should not be used in children and adolescents under 14 years of age, as there are insufficient studies for this age group.

• Ability to drive and use machines
  • There is no experience of impairment of the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
• Pregnancy
  • Do not use this medicine if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
  • If you are in the first 6 months of pregnancy, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
• Lactation
  • There are no known adverse effects of using this medicine while breastfeeding. However, as a precaution, if you are breastfeeding you should not apply the gel directly to the breast.
• Fertility
  • There are no data on the effect of the drug on fertility.
