TIP do not suck the tablets (as your tongue tends to get “sore”), but place them in your “cheek pouch” to let them slowly dissolve. You will then immediately notice the increased flow of saliva and the associated relief of the symptoms. If you don't like the taste of salt - there are many other flavors.

I have known Emser Pastilles since I was a child and am happy that they are a menthol-free alternative to many other throat sweets because I can't stand the mint taste and it makes me sick. They are also better tolerated than many sugar-free candies and I personally find them much more effective, especially for hoarseness and dry mucous membranes.
