Folic acid al 5 mg tablets (pack size: 20 pc) is a vitamin preparation for use in folic acid false or increased folic acid requirements. Folic acid AL 5 mg tablets (pack size: 20 pc) is a vitamin preparation for the treatment of folic acid deficits.

Folic acid al 5 mg tablets (pack size: 20 pc) included: 5 mg folic acid per tablet. Other ingredients: Cellulose powder, lactose monohydrate, magnesiumstear (Ph.Eur.), High -disperses silicon dioxide, Talkum.

Contradictions

The medicine must not be taken if they are allergic to folic acid or another component of this drug.

dosage

Application recommendation of Folic acid AL 5 mg tablets (pack size: 20 pc):

Depending on the need, 1 to 3 tablets per day (corresponding to 5 - 15 mg folic acid) can be taken.
The tablets are taken with sufficient liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water) for meals.

Patient information

• Particular caution when taking the medicine is required
  • Even in the event of life-threatening megaloblast anemia, a possible vitamin B12 deficiency must be excluded due to the risk of permanent damage to the nervous system before the start of therapy (securing serum and erythrocyte samples and determination of the vitamin B12 content).
  • There are no sufficient experiences about the use of a daily dose of more than 5 mg folic acid in pregnancy, so the maximum daily dose of 5 mg folic acid should not be exceeded.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy, breastfeeding or planning pregnancy, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking the drug.
No risks are known to a daily dose of 5 mg. There are no sufficient experiences about the use of a daily dose of more than 5 mg folic acid in pregnancy, so the maximum daily dose of 5 mg folic acid should not be exceeded.
