Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults (from 40 kg body weight)

1 Tablet

1-3 times daily

at 6-hour intervals, with meals

How does the active ingredient in the medicine work?

The active ingredient belongs to a group of substances that are effective against pain and inflammation and can reduce fever.All three effects are primarily based on the inhibition of a naturally occurring substance called prostaglandin.This substance acts as a messenger and must be present for pain to be perceived, inflammatory reactions to be triggered, or body temperature to rise.

What are the contraindications?

Always:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
- Blood disorders
- Ulcers in the digestive tract, including a history of ulcers
- Bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, including a history of bleeding
- Gastrointestinal perforation, including a history of perforation associated with the use of certain drugs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/NSAIDs)
- Active bleeding, such as:
- Cerebral hemorrhage
- Severely impaired liver function
- Severely impaired kidney function
- Severe heart failure
- Severe dehydration

Under certain circumstances - consult your doctor or pharmacist:
- Gastrointestinal problems
- InflammatoryIntestinal diseases, including a history of such diseases, such as:
- Crohn's disease
- Ulcerative colitis
- Blood clotting disorder
- High blood pressure
- Coronary artery disease (impaired blood flow to the heart muscle)
- Possible risk of narrowing of the blood vessels in the heart, such as:
- Elevated blood lipid levels
- Diabetes mellitus
- Smoking
- Peripheral circulatory disorders (e.g., arms, legs)
- Cerebral circulatory disorders
- Collagenoses (diseases in connective tissue), such as:
- Lupus erythematosus
- Mixed connective tissue disease (inflammatory rheumatic disease)Collagenosis)
- Porphyria (metabolic disorder)
- Recent major surgery
- Chickenpox
- Heart failure
- Impaired kidney function
- Impaired liver function

Which age group should be considered?
- Children under 12 years: This medicine should generally not be used in this age group.There are preparations that are more suitable in terms of strength and/or dosage form.
- Children and adults weighing less than 40 kg: This medication should generally not be used in this group.
- Elderly patients aged 65 and over: Treatment should be carefully coordinated with your doctor and closely monitored, e.g., through frequent check-ups.The desired effects and unwanted side effects of the medication may be increased or decreased in this group.

What about pregnancy and breastfeeding?
- Pregnancy: Consult your doctor.Various factors play a role in determining whether and how the medication can be used during pregnancy.

Side effects

What unwanted effects can occur?

- Gastrointestinal complaints, such as:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Heartburn
- Flatulence
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Abdominal pain
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
- Tar-like stools; if this occurs, please consult a doctor immediately
- Gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining)
- Ulcers in the digestive tract, which can also perforate
- Inflammation of the oral mucosa
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Insomnia
- Fatigue
- Irritability
- Agitation
- Hypersensitivity reactions of the skin, such as:
- Skin rash
- Itching
- Episodes of shortness of breath
- Visual disturbances; if this occurs, please consult a doctor immediately
- Worsening of a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis)
- Worsening of a chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract (Crohn's disease)
- Mouth ulcer
- Asthma attack, possibly with a drop in blood pressure
- Gastrointestinal perforation

Notes

What should you consider?
- Reaction time may be impaired even when used as directed, especially at higher doses or in combination with alcohol.Pay particular attention to this if you are participating in road traffic or operating machinery (including household appliances) with which you could injure yourself.
- For pain or fever, do not use for longer than specified in the package leaflet without medical advice!
- With prolonged use of painkillers, headaches may occur that are caused by the painkiller.Talk to your doctor to prevent your headaches from becoming chronic.
- The habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage.The risk increases if several painkillers are combined, or if a painkiller contains several active ingredients.
- Caution: Patients with nasal polyps, chronic respiratory infections, asthma, or a tendency to allergic reactions such as hay fever: This medicine may trigger an asthma attack or a severe allergic skin reaction.Therefore, consult your doctor before use.
- Caution in case of allergy to painkillers!
- There may be medicines with which interactions occur.Therefore, you should generally inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you are already using before starting treatment with a new medicine.This also applies to medicines that you buy yourself, only use occasionally, or whose use was some time ago.
- Alcohol consumption should be avoided as much as possible during long-term treatment .Occasional consumption of small amounts of alcohol is permitted, but not together with the medication.
