Field of use

• The medicine is a means for use in the nose (Rhinologikum) and contains the alpha sympathomimetics xylometazoline.
• Xylometazoline has vascular properties and thus causes a swelling of the mucous membrane.
• To swell of the nasal mucosa in runny nose, sequence -by -punch flow sniff (rhinitis vasomotorica) and allergic runny nose (rhinitis allergica).
• The medicine is suitable for children over 6 years and adults.
• If you don't feel better or worse after 7 days, contact your doctor.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to xylometazolin hydrochloride or one of the other components of this medicine.
  • with a certain form of chronic runny nose (rhinitis sicca);
  • in the event of operation after surgical removal of the stone gland through the nose (transphenoidal pituitary) or other surgical interventions that expose the meninges;
    • in children under 6 years.

     

dosage

• Always apply this medicine exactly as described here or exactly instruction from your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Dosage
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, a spray in adults and children from 6 years of age are brought into each nose opening up to 3 times a day.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The medicine should not be used for more than 7 days unless the medical order.
  • A new application should only take place after a break of several days.
  • Chronic runny nose may only be used due to the risk of the loss of the nasal mucosa.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should,
  • if you inform your doctor immediately.
  • Poisoning can occur through significant overdose or by accidentally taking the drug.
  • The clinical image of poisoning with this preparation can be confusing, since phases of stimulation can alternate with phases of oppression of the central nervous system and the cardiovascular system.
  • Especially in children, after overdose, central nervous effects with cramps and coma, slow heartbeat, respiratory arrest and an increase in blood pressure, which can be replaced by a drop in blood pressure. Symptoms of stimulation of the central nervous system are fear of fear, excitement, hallucinations and cramps. Symptoms due to the inhibition of the central nervous system are humiliation of body temperature, lethargy, sleepiness and coma.
  • The following other symptoms can occur: pupil narrowing (miosis), pupil extension (mydriasis), fever, sweating, pallor, bladei discoloration of the skin as a result of the decrease in the oxygen content in the blood (cyanosis), palpitations, respiratory depression and respiratory arrest (apnea), nausea, increase or humiliation of blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, too faster/too slow heartbeat, cardiac arrest..
  • A doctor must be informed immediately for poisoning, surveillance and therapy in the hospital are necessary.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not apply twice the amount if you have forgotten the previous application, but continue using the application according to the dosage instructions.

 

• If you cancel the application
  • You can cancel the application.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine,
    • in the event of an increased intraocular pressure, especially narrow -angle glaucoma;
    • for severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. coronary heart disease) and high blood pressure (hypertension);
    • if you have a heart disease (e.g. long-Qt syndrome);
    • if they are treated with monoaminoxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) and other potentially blood pressure-enhancing medicines;
    • in a tumor of the adrenal gland (Phäochromocytom);
    • for metabolic disorders, such as B. Overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) and diabetes (diabetes mellitus);
    • in the case of prostate enlargement;
    • porphyria in metabolic disease.
  • The permanent use of mucosal peeling nasal spray can lead to chronic swelling and finally to the loss of the nasal mucosa.
  • Children
    • The drug must not be used in children under 6 years.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • No impairments can be expected in the event of intended use.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Since the security of an application during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not sufficiently proven, you may only apply the medicine on the advice of your doctor and only after this has carried out careful benefits/risk assessment.
• During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the recommended dosage must not be exceeded, since overdose can affect blood supply to the unborn child or reduce milk production.
