How does the active ingredient in the medicine work?Mint oil comes from the Japanese peppermint plant and acts as a natural mixture. About the plant itself:
- Appearance: biennial, upright herb, whose leaves are arranged in a basal rosette in the first year;small pink flowers in loose umbels.
- Occurrence: Cultivated primarily in Brazil, Japan, and India
- Main ingredients: menthol, menthone, limonene
Japanese mint oil is similar to European peppermint oil, but contains significantly more menthol. It relieves mild gastrointestinal cramps, has a carminative effect, and stimulates bile flow.It inhibits the growth of germs.By stimulating cold receptors on the skin, menthol blocks pain receptors and cools swollen mucous membranes. When mint oil is inhaled, it has a cough suppressant effect and thins stubborn mucus.
