The ingredients come from the valerian plant and act as a natural mixture.About the plant itself:

- Appearance: Perennial herb with pinnate leaves and a strong-smelling root, small white-pink flowers in a flat umbel
- Occurrence: Europe and Asia
- Main ingredients: Iridoids (valepotriates), essential oil (bornyl acetate)
- Plant parts and preparations used: Mainly extracts and tinctures of the dried root
The active ingredients in valerian have an anxiolytic, calming, and sleep-inducing effect.They also relax muscles.

Indications

Kneipp Valerian 500 mg film-coated tablets (pack size: 90 tablets) are a herbal medicinal product used for sedation.It is used to treat restlessness and nervous sleep disturbances.The tablets are intended for use in adults.

Active ingredients / Ingredients

Ingredients of Kneipp Valerian 500 mg Film-coated Tablets (Pack size: 90 tablets) :

1 Film-coated tablet contains 500 mg finely powdered valerian root.

The other ingredients are: Magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.) [pflanzlich], Colloidal silicon dioxide, Crospovidone (Type A), Shellac (wax-free), Talc, Dried gum arabic dispersion, Long-chain partial glycerides.

Contraindications

In case of known hypersensitivity to individual ingredients, Kneipp Valerian 500 mg Film-coated Tablets (Pack size: 90 tablets) should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use of Kneipp Valerian 500 mg Film-coated Tablets (Pack size: 90 tablets):

Adults take 4 film-coated tablets up to 3 times daily to treat restlessness.
To treat sleep disturbances caused by nervousness, take 4-6 film-coated tablets 30 minutes to 1 hour before going to bed.If necessary, you can take an additional 4 film-coated tablets earlier in the evening.See package insert!

How to take

• for the treatment of nervous sleep disturbances, take 4-6 film-coated tablets half an hour to one hour before going to bed.If necessary, you can take an additional 4 film-coated tablets earlier in the evening.
• Do not take the film-coated tablets while lying down.
• Please swallow the film-coated tablets whole with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water).

  • If restlessness and nervous sleep disturbances persist for more than two weeks or worsen, you should consult a doctor.
  • Children and Adolescents
    • Use is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age, as there is insufficient information on its safe use in this age group.

 

• Driving and Using Machinery:
  • You should not drive a motor vehicle, operate machinery, or perform any work without a secure footing for up to 2 hours after taking this medicine, as your reactions may be impaired even when used as directed.
  • This is even more true when combined with alcohol.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
• The widespread use of valerian root as a medicinal product has not yet revealed any evidence of risks during pregnancy or breastfeeding, but no experimental studies are available.Therefore, you should not take this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
