How does the active ingredient in the medicine work?

The active ingredient capsaicin comes from the cayenne pepper plant.About the plant itself:
- Appearance: Annual, approximately knee-high plant with pointed, oval leaves on long stems on a bare, somewhat sparsely branched shoot tip.The small, star-shaped flowers are white, have long stalks, and are usually solitary.
- Occurrence: Central America, now cultivated in all warmer countries
- Plant parts and preparations used: Extracts, tinctures, and ointments from the dried fruit with seeds
When capsaicin is applied to the skin, a pain-transmitting messenger substance (substance P) is released from storage vesicles at that site.This initially causes burning pain and a sensation of warmth.However, since practically the entire available amount of substance P is consumed in one go, and the body needs some time to replenish its supply, the treated area is less sensitive to pain for the time being. Capsaicin also stimulates blood circulation by dilating the smallest blood vessels in the skin.The resulting warmth leads to a relaxation of painfully tense muscles.

The active ingredient is: Thick extract of cayenne pepper
100 g of Kytta Warming Cream with Capsaicin contains: 0.6627–1.8292 g thick extract of cayenne pepper (4–7:1), corresponding to 53 mg capsaicinoids, calculated as capsaicin;Extracting agent: Ethanol 80% (V/V)

The other ingredients are: medium-chain triglycerides, glycerol monostearate 40-55 (Type II), glycerol (mono/di)(palmitate/stearate) sodium stearate (95:5), wool wax, emulsifying cetylstearyl alcohol (Type A) (Ph. Eur.), heavy paraffin, carbomer 980, propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol (Ph. Eur.), purified water, rosemary oil, dimethicone, sodium hydroxide, spray-dried glucose syrup.

Contraindications

This product should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the above ingredients.

Dosage

Recommended use of Kytta Warming Cream with Capsaicin 26.5 mg/50 g Cream (Pack size: 50 g):

Kytta Warming Cream with Capsaicin 26.5 mg/50 g Cream (Pack size: 50 g) can be used up to 3 times daily as needed. Apply a thin layer of cream, 2 cm long, to the sore area.Wash your hands thoroughly afterward.Do not use Kytta Heat Cream with Capsaicin 26.5 mg/50 g Cream (pack size: 50 g) for longer than 3 weeks without medical advice.

How to take

• Apply a strip of cream to the painful area
• After massaging in, allow the cream to absorb completely into the skin, otherwise it may stain clothing.
• This medicine is for external use only.

Patient information

• Particular caution is required when using this product,
  • in acute conditions, e.g.,B. accompanied by redness, swelling, or overheating of joints
  • in the case of persistent joint pain or severe back pain radiating into the legs and/or with neurological symptoms (e.g. Numbness, tingling).
  • Please consult a doctor in the above-mentioned cases.
  • Even in small amounts, cayenne pepper preparations severely irritate mucous membranes and cause a painful burning sensation.Therefore, the preparation should not come into contact with the eyes, mucous membranes, or open wounds.
  • Physical activity associated with sweating, as well as external heat applications such as warm water or sun, increase the warming effect.
  • Any burning or stinging sensation that may occur may be intensified.
  • Do not use on damaged skin, e.g., after burns and injuries, in cases of inflammation or eczema.It is recommended not to scratch the application area to avoid skin injuries.
  • Additional heat application (e.g., through radiation or heating pads) should be avoided during treatment.
  • After applying the cream, hands should be washed thoroughly to avoid inadvertent contact with other parts of the body.
  • Prolonged use at the same site may result in temporary damage to sensory nerves.
  • Children
    • There are no adequate studies on the use of this medicine in children.
    • Therefore, this medicine should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
