Always:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
- Intestinal obstruction
- Narrowing in the digestive tract, e.g. in the esophagus, stomach or in the small or large intestine
- Gastric or intestinal perforation or risk of perforation
- Toxic megacolon (dangerous widening of the colon, which is associated with fever etc. and can occur as a complication, e.g. in inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis)

Field of use

Macrogol Al 13.7 g Plv.z.her.e.lsg.z.eingehen (pack size: 20 pcs) is powder for preparation of an oral solution. It is a laxative used to treat chronic constipation in adults, children 12 years and older and older patients.

Mode of action

It helps you have smooth bowel movements even if you have been constipated for a long time. It also works for a very bad constipation called "stool retention" (complete severe constipation).

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients listed above, this product should not be used.
Macrogol must not be taken if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine, have a perforated bowel, narrowing of the bowel or a blockage in the bowel (intestinal obstruction, ileus), e.g. B. by an intestinal paralysis, suffer from a severe inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease or toxic megacolon.
If any of these apply to you, please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Recommended use of Macrogol Al 13.7 g Plv.z.her.e.lsg.z.eingehen (pack size: 20 pieces):

Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, adults, children over the age of 12 and older patients put the contents of the sachet in a glass and add 125 ml of water. The contents are stirred until all the powder has dissolved and the solution is clear or slightly cloudy. This is drunk. For most patients, the normal dose is 1-2 sachets per day. Depending on the result, 3 sachets per day may be required. The dose depends on the severity of the constipation. The dose may be reduced to the lowest effective dose after a few days. The duration of treatment is usually 2 weeks. If symptoms persist after 2 weeks of treatment, a doctor should be consulted.

To treat the most severe constipation (faecal impaction), it is advisable to dissolve the contents of 8 sachets in 1 liter of water. The ready-to-use solution should be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for no longer than 24 hours and treatment with MACROGOL AL should not last longer than three days.

Open the sachet and pour the contents into a glass. Add as much water as indicated on the leaflet. Stir well until all the powder is dissolved and the solution is clear or slightly cloudy, then drink the solution.
To treat constipation, it may be easier to dissolve the contents of all 8 sachets in water.
The ready-to-use solution should be kept in a sealed container in the refrigerator for no longer than 24 hours.

Warnings and Precautions
If you experience side effects such as swelling, shortness of breath, tiredness, dehydration (signs include increased thirst, dry mouth and weakness) or heart problems, stop taking macrogol immediately and contact your doctor.

Ability to drive and use machines
Macrogol has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
