Field of use

Nasenduo nasal spray (pack size: 10 ml) helps with runny nose. An EMNID survey showed that every German household is affected by a cold with a runny nose around five times a year. The symptoms of such a disease are usually harmless and the healing process is usually without complications. But of course a blocked nose is annoying and sometimes prevents healing sleep. This was also confirmed by 86.5 percent of those surveyed, who classified this symptom with the associated restricted breathing as particularly annoying. The irritated nasal mucosa that caused a burning and therefore burned came to second place in the unpleasant side effects of a cold with 72 percent. Mode of action

Nasenduo nasal spray (pack size: 10 ml) contains the active ingredients xylometazolin hydrochloride and dexpanthenol. Xylometazoline narrows the vessels and thereby causes a swelling of the nasal mucosa. The additional active ingredient dexpanthenol is a descendant of vitamin pantothenic acid, which promotes wound healing and protects the mucous membranes.

The active ingredients are: xylometazolin hydrochloride/dexpanthenol. A spray (corresponds to 0.1 ml solution) contains 0.1 mg xylometazolin hydrochloride and 5.0 mg dexpanthenol. 1 ml solution contains: 1 mg xylometazolin hydrochloride and 50 mg dexpanthenol.
The other components are:
Calium dihydrogen phosphate, dinatrium hydrogen phosphate, water for injection purposes

Contradictions

Nasenduoratiopharm Nasal spray 1 ml + 50 mg/ml must not be used if they are allergic to xylometazolinhydrochloride, dexpanthenol, potassium dihydrogen phosphate or dinatrogen phosphate , if you suffer from a dry runny nose (a chronic runny nose that leads to a dry inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes with bark education). If you recently undergone a neurosurgical procedure (transsphenoidal hypophysectomy or other surgical interventions that expose the meninges) and in children under the age of 6.

• Hints:
  • Before the first application and after a more than 7-day treatment break, press the pump several times until an even spray lever is handed over. In the following applications, the dosing spray is immediately ready for use.
  • Carefully clean your nose before using the nasal spray. It is recommended to apply the last dose of the day before going to bed.
  • For hygiene reasons and avoiding infections, a spray bottle should only be used by one person.

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the nasal spray,
    • if you are dealt with with certain medicines against depression, which are referred to as monoaminoxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors), or with other potentially blood pressure-enhancing medicines (e.g. doxapram, ergotamine, oxytocin).

  • The use of chronic runny nose may only be carried out under medical control due to the loss of the nasal mucosa (tissue in the nose).
• Children
  • The nasal spray must not be used in children under the age of 6. For children between 2 and 6 years old, other strengths of this drug with lower concentration of xylometazolin hydrochloride are available.
  • Long -term application and overdose, especially in children, must be avoided. The application for higher doses may only be carried out under medical control.

Pregnancy

• Breastfeeding
  • It is not known whether xylometazoline and dexpanthenol pass into breast milk. A risk of the infant cannot be excluded. A decision must be made about whether breastfeeding can be interrupted or whether treatment with the nasal spray should be dispensed with/the treatment should be interrupted. Both the benefits of breastfeeding for the child and the benefits of therapy for women must be taken into account.
