Field of use

Natural D-Mannose 500 mg capsules (pack size: 60 pc) is a food for special medical purposes with D-Mannose, a monosaccharide, for diet management when reducing recurring bladder infections in vegetarian capsules.

Mode of action

Many people, especially women, suffer not only once, but again and again: strong burning sensation when urinating, pain in the lower abdomen and more often increased urge to urinate without great urine excretion. As a result, those affected are severely restricted in their way of life.
Bacteria are the cause of urinary tract infections. In 75 % of cases, special E. coli bacteria trigger the infections. These germs have the ability to hold onto the wall of the urinary tract, which is why rinsing is impossible. Due to the shorter urethra, they settle much faster in women than in men.
The D-mannose intervenes in this mechanism: the sugar blocks these places on the epithelium of the urinary tract. The intestinal bacteria can no longer be attached to the mucous membrane wall and are rinsed out together with the D-Mannose. Drinking a lot supports this effect.
Even if the D-mannose is a sugar, its recycling in the body has no influence on blood sugar levels. It unchanged into the bloodstream and is forwarded to the bladder via the kidney. For this reason, D-Mannose is also well suited for diabetics. Nevertheless, the blood sugar level should also be checked regularly during the use of D-Mannosis. Taking D-Mannose over several months was examined in long-term studies, which showed no accumulation of side effects.
