Field of use

Nizoral 2% (package size: 30 g) is used for mushroom infections of the skin (dermatomycosis) such as mushroom lichen (e.g. foot mushroom, lower leg fungus) and skin fungus by microsporias and infections by yeast mushrooms (Soormycoses). The preparation is intended for use in adults.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to ketoconazole or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • The recommended dose is:
    • Apply the cream to the diseased skin 1 - 2 times a day and the surrounding skin area (approx. 1 - 2 cm).
• Prevention measures in the application
  • Avoid contact with your eyes!
  • After using the cream, you should wash your hands thoroughly.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The signs of the disease usually decrease significantly within the first 14 days after the start of the treatment. Continue the treatment for at least a few days beyond the disappearance of the symptoms to avoid recurring.
  • Your doctor will tell you how often and for what duration the cream is to be applied. Depending on the type of skin infection, treatment can last 2-6 weeks. The total treatment time for Soorycoses is an average of 2 - 3 weeks, with mushrooms, depending on the location, an average of 2 - 4 weeks, depending on the location, and an average of 4 - 6 weeks for mushrooms.

  • An excessive or more frequent application on the skin can lead to reddening of the skin (erythema), water retention in the skin (edema) and burning. These phenomena disappear again after the treatment is stopped.
  • The medicine should not be taken. If you accidentally swallow the preparation, speak to your doctor.

Taking

• Massage the cream with your finger until it has moved in.

Patient information

• Warnings and Precautions
  • The medicine must not catch the eye.
  • If you are currently using cortisone -containing medicines due to your symptoms, then ask your doctor or pharmacist. You can start using the application, but you should not end the application of the cortisone -containing drug from one day. Your skin could react with redness or itching. Follow the treatment scheme:
    • Apply the cortisone -containing medicine in the morning and this preparation in the evening.
    • After that, carry for one or two more Weeks the cortisone -containing medicines every 2 to 3 days in the morning and this Arzeantei every evening.
    • Then end the application of the cortisone -containing drug and, if necessary, only end this preparation.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Risks in connection with the application of the preparation during pregnancy and breastfeeding are not known.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, you should only apply the preparation after consultation with a doctor.
• Please do not apply the medicine in the chest area during breastfeeding. This is how you avoid the direct contact of the infant.

Miscellaneous

- The general hygiene measures to avoid infections must be observed.
- In order to avoid an immediate recurrence of the complaints after stopping a longer-lasting local cortisone treatment, it is recommended not to stop the local cortisone treatment immediately, but first continue the local cortisone treatment and to apply the ketoconazole cream in the evening.
- The cortisone treatment should be slowly ended over a period of 2-3 weeks.
