Field of use

• The medicine is a vitamin E preparation.
• The medicine is used to prevent and treat a vitamin E lack.
• The medicine is not suitable for the treatment of vitamin E deficiency states, which are associated with a disturbed absorption of vitamin E from the intestine. In these cases, parenteral preparations (syringes) are available.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are hypersensitive to RRR-A tocopherol (vitamin E) or one of the other components of the medicine.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
    • Prevention:
      • Adults take 1 capsule from the medicine every day (corresponding to 134.2 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol).
      • For adults, doses of a maximum of 50 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol per day are generally sufficient to prevent a vitamin deficiency.
    • Treatment:
      • Adults take 1-2 capsules from the medicine daily (corresponding to 134.2 to 268.4 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol).
    • Children:
      • Preparations with a lower active ingredient content are available for children.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the intake depends on the course of the underlying disease. Please ask your doctor!
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount of the medicine than you should
  • Dangerous symptoms in overdose are not known.

 

• If you forgot to take the medicine
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• Please take the capsule unscrewed with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water [200 ml]).

 

Patient information

• Particular caution when taking the medicine is required,
  • if you also take certain medicines to inhibit blood clotting.
    • Please ask your doctor.
  • if you have a vitamin K deficiency at the same time. In the case of combined vitamin e-and vitamin K deficiency due to malabsorption, the blood clotting must be monitored carefully, since in individual cases there was a strong drop in vitamin K.

• Wateriness and operating machines:
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy and breast feeding period:
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking all drugs.
  • During pregnancy you should consume 13 mg vitamin E every day.
  • RRR-Alpha-Tocopherol passes the placenta. So far, no damage has been observed in the unborn child - even with higher income quantities. During breastfeeding you should consume 17 mg vitamin E every day. RRR-Alpha-Tocopherol gets into breast milk.
