Field of use

Otriven Protect runny nose NASenspray (dosing spray) (pack size: 10 ml) - with the triple effect.

Otriven Protect protects against dryness, quickly frees the nose and supports the natural defenses of the nose.

In addition to the proven active ingredient xylometazoline, which reduces the swelling of the nasal mucosa and thus relieves the symptoms of a blocked nose, it contains a second component dexpanthenol, an active ingredient with known anti -inflammatory and moisturizing effect.

The combination of xylometazoline and dexpanthenol frees the nose quickly and persistently: Otriven Protect works after 5–10 minutes and for up to 12 hours. At the same time, Otriven Protect offers protection and care for the attacked nasal mucosa and thus accelerates its self -healing.

Otriven Protect is suitable for adults and adolescents over 12 years.

Good to know: Otriven with other product variants is also available for children under the age of 12 as well as for infants and toddlers.

Otriven Protect is suitable for the following areas of application:

• To swell of the nasal mucosa in a runny nose in connection with acute inflammation of the sinuses

Contradictions

In the case of known hypersensitivity to latex, the product should not be used.

dosage

Application recommendation of Otriven Protect runny nose nasal spray (dosing spray) (pack size: 10 ml):

In adults and adolescents over the age of 12, a spray Otriven Protect can be placed in every nostril if necessary up to 3 times a day to free the nose.

And this is how it works:
1. Clean the nose before the application
2. Insert the spray opening into a nostril and pump once
3. Inhale easily through the nose
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the second nostril

Otriven Protect should not be used for more than 7 days.

Good to know: For hygienic reasons and to avoid infections, the spray head of the bottle should be cleaned with hot water after each use.

Taking

• The preparation is a nasal spray for nasal use.
  • 1. Remove the protective cap from the spray head.
  • 2. Before the first application, the pump must be filled by three times until a fine spray is created.
    • The dosing spray is now ready for use for all other applications.
    • Once filled, the pump remains ready for use with regular use. If the spray does not spray completely during the spray process or the product has not been used for a few days, the pump must be filled with 2 spray processes again.
    • Don't spray in the eyes.
  • 3Rd nose thoroughly roll.
  • 4. Keep the bottle with the thumb under the floor and the spray head between two fingers.
  • 5. Tilt a little forward and insert the spray head into a nose opening.
  • 6. Spray and at the same time inhale through the nose. Repeat the process on the other nostril.
  • 7. Spray head after use with a cloth Reput on the bottle again and protective cap.
  • 8. To avoid infections, the spray should only be used by one person.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation,
    • if you are treated with monoaminooxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) or have received them within the last 2 weeks or if you take other potentially blood pressure-enhancing medicines,
    • for severe cardiovascular diseases (e.g. coronary heart disease) or high blood pressure (hypertension),
    • if you suffer from a tumor of the adrenal gland (Phäochromocytom),
    • for metabolic disorders, such as B. Overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) or diabetes (diabetes mellitus),
    • if you have a metabolic disease (porphyria),
    • for prostate enlargement (prostate hyperplasia).
  • To avoid infections, the drug should only be used by one person and the spray head should be cleaned after each use.
  • Xylometazolin can very rarely cause insomnia. If there is insomnia, you should avoid the application late in the evening or at night.
  • Older patients
    • Older patients can react more sensitive to unwanted effects of this drug.
    • Chronic runny nose may only be used due to the risk of the loss of the nasal mucosa.
  • Children and adolescents
    • Long -term application (more than 10 consecutive days) and overdose should be avoided, especially in children, because this can lead to a clogged nose and thus narrowing of the airways. The permanent use of this drug can lead to chronic swelling (rhinitis medicamentosa) up to the shrinkage of the nasal mucosa (atrophy).
    • The active ingredient concentration is suitable for adults and adolescents from the age of 12. The drug must therefore not be used in infants and children under the age of 12.
    • Corresponding nasal sprays with a lower content of the decongestant active ingredient xylometazolin hydrochloride are available for children under the age of 12.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • No impairments can be expected when using this drug. If you feel tired or sleepy, you shouldn't drive a car or operate machines.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy
  • There is no sufficient data for the use of xylometazolin hydrochloride and dexpanthenol in pregnant women. Therefore, the preparation should not be used during pregnancy.
• Breastfeeding
  • It is not known whether xylometazoline or dexpanthenol pass into breast milk. For this reason, the preparation of breastfeeding women should not be used.
• Reproductive ability
  • There is no sufficient data on the effects of xylometazoline and/or dexpanthenol on the reproductive ability in humans.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
