Natural cleaning of the nose

How does runny nose actually arise?

The nose is lined with mucous membrane on the inside, which is very well supplied with blood. In a runny nose, the viruses cause inflammation that causes the distribution of tissue hormones such as histamine in the body. Histamine, in turn, expands the blood vessels of the mucous membrane so that it swells. In addition, the blood vessels are permeable, water emerges, which is perceived as a clogged and running nose.

Use the body's mechanism

When excited, the adrenal gland releases the stress hormones adrenaline and noradrenaline. Both stress hormones work over the unconscious (vegetative) nervous system and bind to alpha or beta receptors. Their task is, among other things, to prepare the body for flight or struggle, which is why they dampen the sensation of pain, deepen breathing and increase blood pressure. Another important effect of adrenaline and noradrenaline is that they pull the blood vessels together. And this is exactly where xylometazoline is used in the Snup® nasal spray. When using local application, xylometazoline binds to the alpha receptors of the blood vessels in the mucous membrane and acts like adrenaline there. That is why the active ingredient class is also called alpha sympathomimetics. By docking to the receptors, the blood vessels contract in the nose, the nasal mucosa swells off and excess sniff secretions are easier to quit. The running nose is stopped and opens sich again.

Mode of action

Swollen nasal mucous membranes are a sign of defense reactions of the body, but can also form a feel -good climate for bacteria. The active ingredient xylometazoline contained in snup runny spray 0.1% (pack size: 15 ml) causes the nasal mucosa to swell and thus promote the secretion drain.
Snup runny nose spray 0.1% (pack size: 15 ml) also contains nourishing sea water that corresponds to the physiological properties of the cells of the nasal mucosa and thus moistened the nose naturally.

Contradictions

In the case of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, inflamed nasal mucosa, infants and children under the age of 6, pregnancy and breastfeeding, severe cardiovascular diseases and increased intraocular pressure should not be used.

For hygienic reasons, a nasal spray should only be used by one person.

Taking

• The medicine is intended for use in the nose (nasal application).
• Please remove the protective cap. Before the first application, pumps several times until a uniform spray. The dosing spray is immediately ready for use for further applications.
• Keep the dosing spray bottle as vertically as possible and pump it once per nose opening. Lightly inhale through the nose during the spray process. For hygienic reasons, wipe the spray head after each application and put the protective cap again.

    • if you suffer from severe cardiovascular disease (e.g. coronary heart disease or high blood pressure [Hypertonie]).
    • if you suffer from a tumor of the adrenal cord (Phäochromocytom).

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • If the drug is used for longer or higher doses, effects on cardiovascular functions or the nervous system cannot be ruled out. In these cases, the ability to carry a motor vehicle and to operate machines can be impaired. Note that alcohol worsens their traffic ability even further!

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy

Hints

The permanent use of slimming snacks can lead to the loss of the nasal mucosa.
