Furthermore, silymarin can neutralize cell-damaging free radicals (aggressive oxygen compounds), stimulate protein synthesis, and thereby promote the regenerative capacity of liver cells. Milk thistle can therefore be used for toxic liver damage (e.g., from alcohol or mushroom toxins) and as a supportive treatment for chronic inflammatory liver diseases (such as hepatitis) and cirrhosis.

I bought the milk thistle capsules for my husband's liver detoxification/regeneration. He's chronically ill and has been diagnosed with fatty liver disease due to excessive medication.Taking one capsule a day is very easy; it's tasteless and swallows very easily.The extent to which it positively affects liver function will likely become apparent with prolonged use; it's too early to say.
