The body cannot produce B vitamins, including vitamin B12, itself. Therefore, they must be obtained through food. Vitamin B12 (also called "cobalamin") is a water-soluble vitamin and important for numerous bodily functions. If the body lacks vitamin B12 or is deficient in it, this usually manifests itself in fatigue, exhaustion, and a general feeling of having less energy than usual. Therefore, an adequate daily supply of vitamin B12 is important.
