The “National Nutrition Survey II”¹ shows that a total of 91% of women and 82% of men do not reach the recommended daily intake of Vitamin D. For some time now, various nutritionists have recognized the importance of an adequate supply of vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 for maintaining healthy bones.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), osteoporosis (bone loss) is among the ten most common diseases worldwide² and is therefore classified as a widespread disease. According to the German "BEST study," approximately 6.3 million people in Germany were affected by osteoporosis in 2009, of whom 5.2 million had severe osteoporosis. Women (this corresponds to 82.5%).³ It can be assumed that this trend has continued since then and will continue to do so. Bone mass increases until around the age of 30, but from about the age of 40 onwards, bone loss predominates. In addition, the declining estrogen levels in women during menopause promote osteoporosis and thus initiate the loss of bone density. As a result, the bones become porous and can fracture more easily in falls.

From a nutritional perspective, the following relationships exist: Vitamin D contributes to normal blood calcium levels, which ensures that the body has enough calcium available for incorporation into the bones. Vitamin D also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones. Normal bones are characterized by normal growth and normal bone density. The bone protein osteocalcin plays an important role in this process. With normal bone function, vitamin D supports the formation of osteocalcin. Vitamin K also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones by promoting the activation of osteocalcin when bone function is normal.

2. Vitamin K2 (MK-7) with a dosage of 80 µg
3. MCT^4.-Coconut oil powder as a transport medium for optimal bioavailability in the body

The capsules themselves are made of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (plant-based capsule shell). Microcrystalline cellulose is used as a filler, and magnesium salts of fatty acids are used as a separating/flow agent in the production of this product.

Why MCT⁴coconut oil powder?
We deliberately use high-quality MCT⁴coconut oil powder, the fat content of which optimizes bioavailability for the body. This is because vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, meaning that fat is needed as a transport medium for the body to absorb vitamin D effectively.

Vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 are best used together to strengthen bones. Vitamin D3 regulates calcium absorption from the intestines, while vitamin K2 ensures that the calcium is ultimately transported to its site of action. Both vitamins are combined with high-quality coconut oil powder, the fat content of which optimizes bioavailability for the body. This is because vitamins D and K are fat-soluble vitamins, meaning that fat is required as a transport medium for the body to absorb them effectively. The K2 form used, menaquinone-7 (MK-7), has an effective all-trans content of 99% and is considered the most bioactive form of all vitamin K compounds.
