Field of use

• The preparations in this combination pack contains the active ingredient azelastin, which belongs to a group of medicines that are referred to as antihistamines. Antihistamines prevent the effects of substances (such as histamines), which are produced by the body in connection with an allergic reaction. Azelastin reduces inflammation on the eye and in the nose.
• It is used for symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (e.g. hay fever in combination with allergic conjunctivitis) in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 and over.
• If you don't feel better or worse after 2 days, contact your doctor.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to Azelastinhydrochloride or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine exactly as described or according to your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Adults, young people and children from 6 years
  • Treatment and prevention of symptoms of seasonal allergic symptoms of the eyes
    • Eye drops, solution: Unless otherwise prescribed, twice a drop twice a day (in the morning and evening) 1 drop in each eye. In the event of severe symptoms, this dose can be increased up to 4 times a day 1 drop per eye.
    • On days with strong allergen pollution, eye drops should be used in the morning after getting up.
  • Symptomatic treatment of hay fever
    • Nasal spray, solution: Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor twice a day (in the morning and evening) 1 spray in each nose hole.
  • Patients with liver or kidney damage
    • There is no sufficient experience with the treatment of patients with liver and/or renal failure with the medicine.

 

• Duration of the application:
  • The combination pack can be used until the symptoms canceled. The duration of the application depends on the type, the severity and the course of the symptoms.
  • Even after the symptoms have subsided, they should continue the treatment with the drug as long as they are exposed to the allergy -causing substances (e.g. pollen). The eye drops should not be used continuously without consultation with the doctor for more than 6 weeks. Check out a doctor if the symptoms worsen or no improvement occurs after 48 hours.
  • The nasal spray is suitable for long -term treatment, there is no temporal restriction of the application.
  • Note the shelf life of the bottles after ancillary.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • After using the eye and nose, no specific overdose reactions are known, and are not expected in this type of application.
  • Due to the low amount of active ingredients, even with extreme local overdose, symptoms of symptoms are not to be expected.
  • However, if larger quantities (e.g. the total content of a bottle of the nasal spray by a child) are accidentally swallowed up, a doctor should definitely be consulted.
  • Experience in humans after using toxic (very high, toxic) doses of azelastin hydrochloride are not met. Due to animal experimental findings, with extreme overdose and intoxication (poisoning), however, central nervous appearances (e.g. unrest, excitement or strongly pronounced, continuous fatigue or sleepiness) can be expected. The symptoms (symptoms) should therefore be treated.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not apply twice the amount if you have forgotten the previous application.
  • No special measures are required. Continue the therapy with the same dosage at the next set. If necessary, you can use the eye drops and the nasal spray between two scheduled times.

 

• If you cancel the application
  • If possible, treatment with the arzeni middle should be carried out regularly until the freedom of the symptoms is reached.
  • If you interrupt the application, you have to expect that the typical symptoms of your illness will soon show again.

Taking

• Eye drops, solution
  • 1. Open the screw cap.
  • 2. Beugive your head back and carefully pull the lower eyelid down.
  • 3. Carefully add a drop in the middle of the lower eyelid. Make sure that the dripper does not touch the eye or the skin.
  • 4. Let go of the lower eyelid and press lightly against the nose from the inner corner of the eye. Block slowly several times to distribute the drop over the eyeball. Then remove superfluous eye drops.
  • 5. Repeat the process for the other eye.
• Nasal spray, solution
  • The nasal spray should be used with upright head keeping.
  • 1. Clean your nose.
  • 2. Remove the plastic security ring from the protective cap before use.
  • 3. Pull off the protective cap.
  • 4. Pump out several times (3 to 4 times) before the first application until even spray levers.
  • 5. Hold your head in an upright position and give a spray in every nostril. Do not tilt your head back.
  • 6. Wipe the pump device and put the protective cap back up.
  • If the nasal spray has not been applied for more than 6 days, the dosing pump must be activated again by pressing down and re -release until there is sufficient fine spray.

  • Eye drops, solution
    • The eye drops are not suitable for the treatment of infections on the eye.
  • Nasal spray, solution
    • If you tend your head too far back during the application, as a result of increased intake in the body, drowsiness and bitter taste may occur.
  • Children
    • This medicine must not be used in children under 6 years, since security and effectiveness are not sufficiently proven.

 

• Wateriness and ability to use machines
  • When applying the preparations from this combination package, complaints such as fatigue, mattness, exhaustion, dizziness or weakness, which can also be conditioned by the disease itself, have been reported in individual cases. In these cases, the ability to carry a motor vehicle and to operate machines can be impaired. Note that alcohol can worsen its traffic.
  • Eye drop
    • Patients with allergic conjunctivitis (conjunctivitis) often suffer from watery and itchy eyes, which can affect vision.
    • The use of eye drops, even with intended use, can affect vision immediately after dropping into the conjunction and thus have an impact on traffic and operating machines. You should therefore wait until the eyesight has normalized again after dropping.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • There are inadequate experiences for the use of Azelastin in pregnancy.
  • As a precaution, the drug should not be used in the first three months of pregnancy.
  • In the second and third thirds of pregnancy, this preparation may only be applied if it is absolutely necessary and a medical check is carried out.
• Breastfeeding
  • Since the active ingredient is excreted to breast milk to a small extent, the medicine should not be used during breastfeeding.
