Field of use

• The dosing spray is a runny nose (Rhinologikum, Alpha Sympathomimetics).
• The active ingredient xylometazolin hydrochloride has vascular properties and thus causes the nasal mucosa to swell.
• The dosing spray is used
  • to swell of the nasal mucosa in runny nose, sequence -by -punch flow sniff (rhinitis vasomotorica) and allergic runny nose (rhinitis allergica).
  • to facilitate the flow of the secretion in the event of inflammation of the sinuses and in the case of otitis media (catarrh of the tube agent) in connection with runny nose.
• The dosing spray is intended for school children and adults.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to xylometazolin hydrochloride or one of the other components of this medicine.
  • if you suffer from dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with bark formation (rhinitis sicca).
  • for infants and children under the age of 6.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is
  • In school children and adults, you can bring in 1 spray in every nasal opening up to 3 times a day.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dosage and the duration of use!

 

• Duration of the application
  • Do not apply the preparation without medical advice for more than 7 days. A new application should only take place after a break of several days. In principle, the doctor should be asked about the duration of use in children.
  • The use of chronic runny nose may only be carried out under medical control due to the risk of the loss of the nasal mucosa.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • In the event of an overdose, you will inform your doctor immediately. Poisoning can occur through significant overdose or accidental intake:
    • The clinical image of poisoning with the preparation can be confusing, since phases of stimulation can alternate with phases of oppression of the central nervous system and the cardiovascular system.
    • Symptoms of stimulation of the central nervous system are fear of fear, excitement, borne perception and cramps. Symptoms due to the inhibition of the central nervous system are humiliation of body temperature, participation, sleepiness and coma.
    • The following symptoms may occur:
      • Expansion or narrowing of the pupils,
      • Nausea, vomiting,
      • Blue coloring of the skin,
      • Fever, sweating, pallor,
      • irregular heartbeat, palpitations, too faster or too slow heartbeat, cardiac arrest,
      • Increase or shock -like humiliation of blood pressure,
      • Fluid accumulation in lung tissue,
      • Breathing disorders, respiratory arrest.
    • Especially in children, after overdose, central nervous effects with cramps and coma, slow heartbeat, respiratory arrest and an increase in blood pressure, that of blood druckabfall can be replaced.
    • In the case of poisoning, monitoring and therapy in the hospital is necessary.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not apply the double dose if you have forgotten the previous application. Pass the application in the prescribed or described dosage.

Taking

• The medicine is intended for use in the nose (nasal application).
• Please remove the protective cap. Before the first application, pumps several times until a uniform spray. The dosing spray is immediately ready for use for further applications.
• Keep the dosing spray bottle as vertically as possible and pump it once per nose opening. Lightly inhale through the nose during the spray process. For hygienic reasons, wipe the spray head after each application and put the protective cap again.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine,
    • if you take certain medicines for the treatment of depression (monoaminooxidase inhibitors [MAO-Hemmer]) and other potentially blood pressure-enhancing medicines.
    • if you suffer from increased intraocular pressure, especially narrow -angle glaucoma.
    • if you suffer from a severe cardiovascular disease (e.g. long-QT syndrome, coronary heart disease or high blood pressure [Hypertonie]).
    • if you suffer from a tumor of the adrenal cord (Phäochromocytom).
    • if you have metabolic disorders such as B. Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) or diabetes (diabetes) suffer.
    • if you suffer from an enlargement of the prostate (prostate).
  • If you suffer from one of the above diseases or suffered earlier, ask your doctor before using the drug. Your doctor will carefully consider the risks against the use of the preparation.
• Notice:
  • Please note that a permanent use of sniffy-swelling sniffy drugs can lead to persistent (chronic) swelling and finally to the loss of the nasal mucosa.
  • A long -term application, especially in children, should be avoided. The application with higher dosage may only be carried out under medical control.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • If the drug is used for longer or higher doses, effects on cardiovascular functions or the nervous system cannot be ruled out. In these cases, the ability to carry a motor vehicle and to operate machines can be impaired. Note that alcohol worsens their traffic ability even further!

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • The drug should not be used during pregnancy, since inadequate studies on the unborn child are available.
• Breastfeeding
  • An application during breastfeeding should be omitted, since it is not known whether the active ingredient or its dismantling products will pass into breast milk.
